Interchange Festival

Critical Path is thrilled to present our second Interchange Festival 2017. Over the weekend from Friday evening to Sunday night, we invite you to join us to share your and others experience of working across and between cultures. The meeting and connection of different cultures is at the heart of Interchange Weekend 2017; international and intercultural exchange as part of choreographic process as part of artists’ practice.

Process and Practice – shared
Talks, forums, workshops, things to do and things to watch and listen to. Three days to come together question, exchange and play together.

CALENDAR

Friday 10 Nov| Acknowledging Country

We live, we work, we are born and we die on land nurtured by cultures thousands of years living. Across the year, across the weekend, and especially on this night we situate ourselves on Gadigal land and acknowledge what it means to be on Country.

Saturday 11 Nov | Political Body
This day gathers Sydney artists whose practices deal with the body as the place of agency – creating works that discuss marginalised communities, socio-political landscapes, climate change, body politics and what it means to be human.

Sunday 12 Nov | The Start and the End of the Body
Where does it start and where does it end? Do we need to have moving bodies in order to make dance? If dance is an embodied practice what are the edges, the conception, the decomposition of the body, of dance? Should we think of ourselves as singular bodies, as body corporate or as part of our environment?
