Responsive Research Program Resident 2008

Paulina Quinteros is a graduate of WAAPA.

Paulina won the Peggy van Praagh award for choreography in 1996 and the Sir Robert Helpmann award for Professional Choreography in 1998 and has received two Choreographic Fellowships from the Choreographic Centre in Canberra. In 2014, she won the AICD NSW Choreographic competition.

Paulina has created numerous works for festivals and companies including The Australian Ballet Company, Queensland Ballet Company, The Australian Dance Awards, Carnivale , Bondi Ballet, VCA, WAAPA . She has worked with Australian Composer Ross Edwards choreographing for the conferring of the Peace Prize to Archbishop Desmond Tutu and also collaborated creating the choreography for Mr. Edwards’s Oboe concerto. In 2016, she was invited to work with Queensland Ballet where she created two new works for their Dance Dialogue’s season. Following Queensland ballet, Paulina travelled to Perth to create a new work, The Circus of Dreams at WAAPA.

Her new work,  La Coreografia,  premiered in Sydney at the Seymour Centre in September last year, performed by her newly formed company, DANZA DEL ARTE, and was the winner of the 2016 Sydney Fringe Festival Dance Award.
