Why Dance Matters Now: Selected Texts

Critical Path, in partnership with Delving into Dance, invited those engaged in dance (in whatever capacity) to share thoughts as to why dance matters now…

Together we have commissioned a total of twelve texts for publication from Australian artists and writers, from which five will be part of the digital Interchange Festival 2019.

The commissioned writing will be by Adrianne Semmens & Jennifer Eadie, Alison Plevey, Bronwen Kamanz, Don Asker, Emma Wilson, Ira Ferris, Jonathan Homsey, Kayley Palmer, Leisa Prowd, Raynen Bajette O’Keefe, Simon Ellis & Shaun McLeod and Tsuki Becoming.

Adrianne & Jennifer, Alison, Ira, Simon & Shaun and Tsuki will be part of Critical Path’s digital Interchange Festival 2019.

The artists’ contributions play with form and style and open the practice of dance up to new audiences. All the texts will be published online in early 2020.

This project is funded with the support of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, as well as vital audience contributions.
