Zement, the solo
Friday 12 July 2019
1pm – 1:30pm
In Zement the solo, the young artist Jill Crovisier founded her choreographic research work on the theme of separation, particularly the symbolism of the wall. According to the choreographer, the human hand built walls, so he is the origin of all forms of separation, which aims to protect, enclose divide or destroy. Beyond the responsibility carried by humans on political decisions, the hand is also, personally seen, the mirror of his own life.
Jill Crovisier graduated in ballet and contemporary dance at the Conservatory of Music in Esch Alzette, Luxembourg before continuing her studies in China, France, NYC, Israel and Indonesia. She has been working worldwide since 2007 as a freelance dancer and since 2015 as well as a choreographer, video maker and in dance therapy projects. The award winning dancer and choreographer participated among others in the prestigious Hannover choreographic competition, The Copenhagen choreographic competition, the Stuttgart solo competition and Lucky Trimmer. Works such as The Hidden Garden, MATKA, SIEBEN or Zement, the solo have gained international recognition. Recently Jill was awarded with the Luxembourgish Dance Prize.
