Catapult/Critical Path Studio Exchange

The ‘Studio Exchange’ aims to facilitate the movement of artists between the two organisations and between metropolitan Sydney and regional Newcastle. The visiting artists use this opportunity to invite connections with local artists and open up dialogue around their current practice and new work.

Rakini Devi at Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub
1 –  15 June 2019

In the second of Critical Path and Catapult’s Studio Exchanges, Rakini Devi kicks off with two weeks in Newcastle, taking forward her body as archive exploration.

Allie Graham & Skip Willcox at The Drill Hall
5 – 9 August 2019

Allie Graham & Skip Willcox come to The Drill Hall for a week in August to develop MESS.

“Some say you can’t have beauty without order. Hell no. MESS captures the chaos, glamour, melodrama and absurdity of a Golden Era (that is…anytime pre 2019). This work explores the dichotomous persona of the femme fatale and the ingenue. MESS is kitsch, sweetness and wild physical discomfort all hidden beneath the laboured pursuit of beauty and heady mythologised love.”

Critical Path invite you to a showing of Allie Graham & Skip Willcox’s MESS.

When: Thursday 8 August, 6:30pm start

Where: The Drill Hall, 1C New Beach Rd, Darling Point NSW 2027
