PYT | Fairfield

In 2018, Critical Path partnered with PYT | Fairfield, to bring together five female and non-binary identifying peer artists working with choreography in Sydney, to engage with the company of PYT | Fairfield’s new project, The Playlist. The artists Anna Kuroda, Cleo Mees, Ivey Wawn, Patricia Wood and Raynen O’Keefe worked on this project and explored the state of feminism in pop culture and music, from the perspectives of five young female-identifying performers from Western Sydney: Ebube Uba, Koco Carey, Tasha O’Brien, May Tran and Mara Knezevic. The final piece was performed in August 2019 at PYT | Fairfield.

In 2019, they partnered to deliver a multi-year project that explores contemporary dance practice in Western Sydney.  The first lab ‘Why Is It Art?’ was facilitated by Victoria Hunt and brought together the artists Eliam Royalness, Larissa McGowan and Maria Tran in one week long residencies at the Drill Hall and PYT | Fairfield.

A second lab will take place in 2020.
