INTERCHANGE FESTIVAL

Performances, Insights and Debate

Join us over three evenings for a festival celebrating intercultural exchange. This long weekend of presentations offers further opportunities for dialogue between our local and visiting artists, and offers audiences the chance to engage with intercultural work at the development stage.

PERFORMANCE: FACETS 2015
Friday 13 Nov, 7–9pm

International artists Hemabharathy Palani (India) presents her acclaimed short dance work Trikonaga and Soo Hyun Hwang (Korea) shows her solo piece For it End.

Lucky Lartey (NSW) present his short work Long Walk developed early in the year in India (Attakkalari) embodying the speeches of Nelson Mandela.
Hemabharathy and Lucky finish the night sharing their FACETS residency experience at Critical Path.

Trikonanga’ explores three essential dimensions that signify Hemabharathy’s unique movement language and approach to dance. The piece combines distinct physical ties of three dance forms – Bharatanatyam, contemporary and ballet, traversing various emotional states.

Soo-hyun explores the many layers of her relationship with crying in this work: Why do I want to cry?
Why can I not cry sometime? What dose the physicality of crying mean? Looking at what makes her cry and where, she embodies these struggles and questions through this work.

SHARING: MONSOON AUSTRALIA
Saturday 14 Nov, 7–9pm

Australian and international residents of the Monsoon Australia Lab share their ideas, experiences and new collaborations, fresh from their recent residency at the Bundanon Trust and Critical Path.
