Ivey and Mark will take this opportunity to begin building a foundation for collaborative practice. They will use their shared family history as material to consider how geopolitical forces impact human movement, by investigating the forgotten, lost and mistranslated parts of their family history as spaces of imaginative potential.
Ivey Wawn (1990) is an independent artist making dance-based work for a range of contexts. Drawing poetics from economics and microbial processes, with a focus on the politics of exchange and transmission, Ivey develops choreographic blueprints that result in complex systems of transformation and care for the human scale. She is also studying political economy at the University of Sydney.

Mark Mailler (1989) is an artist living in Sydney, interested in the process of scavenging of visual and cultural residue left behind from both online and offline platforms. Marks scavenging aims to negotiate a new perspective of the self within capitalist ideologies entrenched in our society. Working over many mediums such as image making, sculpture and performance to assure boundless possibilities to manipulate, re-define and re-value the visual and cultural conditions of our times, Mark produces work that flows between perspectives of utility and poetics.
Mark has a Bachelor of the Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW School of Art and Design (COFA), where he also engaged in an exchange program with Concordia University, Montreal. His solo and collaborative work with Clare Powell (Shallow Kids), has been shown at various spaces in Sydney, Montreal, Mexico City, and Lisbon. In 2016 Mark was in residence at Belas Artes at the University of Lisbon, Portugal and in 2017 he is completing his honours Year in Situated Media at UTS. Mark is currently preparing for an upcoming show at Tributary Projects, Canberra.
