Vicki will collaborate with renowned choreographer Martin del Amo, to develop a solo practice under the title ‘The Community in One Body’. Vicki will explore the cultural premise of community ownership of cultural expression, i.e. dance, song and story. This topic will also form the driving narrative or concept. With Martin, Vicki will develop a heightened understanding of dramaturgy and build/develop choreographic scores for the singular body.
Vicki Van Hout is an Indigenous choreographer dedicated to giving voice to the current urban indigenous human condition. She utilises dance as an entry point to the incorporation of other arts disciplines including text, film and large-scale installation.
