Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 November, and Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 November, The Drill Hall
An intensive workshop facilitated by world-renowned multidisciplinary artist Bill Shannon for artists with physical disability. Bill invites participants to explore their individual movement patterns as the basis for a personal artistic language. Participants will explore experiential exercises, discuss a wide range of issues related to the perception and reception of bodies with disabilities in performance and formulate singular vocabularies for crafting live art. Shannon’s scholarship and methods reflect his life-long process of creating a singular style of movement on crutches, and the limitless experimentalism, performances, choreography and video works seen all over the world.
This workshop is focused around creating in public spaces, for professional artists from any discipline interested in movement and choreographic practice.
