Gathering for Senior Creative Women – Expressions of Interest

What challenges do senior female choreographers face? This conversation between choreographic artists aims to celebrate older women working in dance and introduce audiences to the process, practice and achievements of artists, encouraging different ways of looking at the creative work they produce.

Julie-Anne Long (artist-scholar and Senior Lecturer in Dance and Performance at Macquarie University) brings together a group of experienced women working in dance to share ideas, concerns and ways of dancing with other senior creatives and those interested in artists’ process.

This is the second of three events. Below is the schedule:

10am-12.30pm: Dance artist conversation with Sue Healey, Tess de Quincey, Kay Armstrong, Kathy Cogill and Nikki Heywood including morning tea.
12.30-2.30pm: Lunch and one-on-one short ‘interviews’ with dance artists

3-5pm: Group discussion with Woollahra female artists and the public including afternoon tea.

Please contact info@criticalpath.org.au if you would like to join the group in March.

Supported by a community and cultural grant from Woollahra Council, Create NSW and Australia Council for the Arts.
